I went today to see the renovations of the place I liked in koreatown but the manager said the 4 units wont be ready until thursday. I think that is fine and means nobody else will be competing for the place. So I will go back thursday and apply. I still have not decided how I am going to fill out the application. But I have a good feeling about this and am going to have faith.

Well after several weeks of waiting, I finally covered an event and took pictures. Maybe with some luck the magazine will use them. Of course it was my favorite, Drag Queens!

Honeysuckle sent me an invitation to a performance tonight so I am going to try my best to head over there. It starts at 9pm so I should be able to resist my old lady urge to go to sleep early! I do not know why exactly, but I find drag queens interesting. I think it is because there is a paradox in that they are performers but also gender benders. I imagine some of them have difficulties in their personal lives trying to get others to understand them. I have known several of them over the years and still find it kind of tough to comprehend why someone wants to dress like the other gender, even if its only to perform. I also think a good number of drag queens are unattractive as guys and thus decide to wear all the makeup and dresses to get attention they would otherwise not receive. A perfect example of that is my friend Momma. See picture above.

I have been continuing my search for a new place to call home. I am making a lot of progress but do not want to reveal too many details just yet. I hopefully will have things completed by August 1. I am not going to rush into anything. I am planning this out very well to make sure it lasts for several years to come.

I am looking to move into a place of my own. I went today and walked around Koreatown area of LA. I looked at a few places but have not put in applications as of yet. If anyone reading knows of something reasonable but not dumpy, please let me know 🙂 I currently live in west hollywood in a condo with a doctor. It is not horrible. But I feel like living by myself now. It can be taxing to have to worry about someone else’s idiosyncrasies. The two things that bother me about this current room mate are: He refuses to lock doors most of the time so I have to do it. Luckily I leave after he does, so that is not too big of a deal. The other issue is his pets. They make a mess from time to time and it can be a bit gross. Oh and occasionally he will play his television too loudly when I want to sleep. So I am trying to find a place in a quiet building for not a lot of money. I do not need anything fancy. I just want a small space that has enough electricity for my computer and a/c unit so I am comfortable. That is all I need.
