I went last night to Cocktails with the Stars. I did not attend the Tuesday club as the weather was quite bad and cold. And I knew the crowd would be very very slow. I phoned the manager to let him know. He seemed cool with my decision. Anyway, last night I found myself enjoying the evening with a nice straight porn guy. I sometimes am a bit of a hetero-phobe but Jack was a very laid back guy and was quite friendly. I thought Jason handled the questions about female genitals fairly well. I had to laugh when Jack said he likes the snatch to be marinated!

I did not go downtown to the contest on Saturday as Tony covered it. So yesterday the weather was nice and so I went to silverlake and enjoyed the afternoon. I put on my guard face and shot pictures of musclie tattooie types at this street fair which somewhat resembles Folsom in SF. They had a booth and word from them is that they will be involved in production next year in some way. The exec director of Folsom Events is a friend so I will know more later. Which by the way is nice now that he took this job since I plan on going to SF yearly for Folsom.

I went last night to what I thought was going to be a fun evening with Dolly, Lily, and Jane. However since Fox studios PR rep was a bit of a cunt, I did not get the photos needed. She decided to screw us by giving all the room to video crews and stuffing the photographers into 5 feet of space. So since I did not have my ladder, I got like 5 shots. One of Lily and a few of Jane. I was unprepared when Dolly came out early. So the event was a bust in my opinion. Well no need dwelling on negativity of that….here are few shots I did get.

Skipped The Club

After a relaxing weekend in palm springs and then a rainy day, I decided it was not worth it to stay up late taking pictures at the club. I am sure it was slow and they probably did not miss me. If they did, what can I do now. I am not going to cocktails on thursday either this week because I have a magazine assignment. I get to meet the 9-5 cast. Should be interesting I am sure. Going in a bit to meet Ed in Los Feliz for a change. We are gonna have lunch at Fred’s 62 then hang out at Psychobabble Cafe as that coffee house is a lot more interesting than any starbucks.

Palm Springs Weekend

I left Friday for a quiet weekend in Palm Springs. Nothing planned at all. Just walked around, relaxed, and lounged in the hotel room. Sometimes its necessary to get away from LA for a few days and just decompress. So I did just that and had a nice time. I only took the travel camera and took a few shots of snow capped mountains. I rented a car and sure was stunned by a few aspects of that. To start with, I use public transit in LA and do not own a car, for those who do not know me. I carry a california license but use it only when traveling. Ok back to two big shocks. One, how did gasoline get so expensive? Two, the terribly planned and designed LA roads are boggling to the mind. No, the reason traffic is so congested and poor in LA is not just because of too many vehicles. Its because the stop lights are not timed/synchronized and the highway system is the worst design in this entire country. I have driven a car in almost all 50 states, highways, local streets, and so forth. Example, I was coming back on I-10 and just before I hit the downtown LA area, instead of logically going below the city and continuing I-10 through, the left most 5 lanes become the 101 freeway while I-10 gets piped through 1 lane for almost 3 miles. You blink, and you get to take the 101 freeway instead of logically continuing on I-10. I call that extremely retarded. If the engineers responsible for this lack of design are still living, I hope they are cursed to travel those routes hourly. If I had to commute through this on a daily basis, I would have to move away. Astonishing how the goverment of LA has not taken this problem and fixed it due to embarrasment. But another perfect example is the construction along Santa Monica Blvd which for about 10-15 miles is a major east/west artery. This project in any other well run city would have taken maximum of 1 year. But here it has taken over 3 and still is not completed. In Chicago, an entire freeway was paved in 6 months for 15 miles. But then that is a real city unlike LA.
