I had 4 events. Club Make Up started again and was a lotta fun. Some of the same crowd from dragstrip. Spit was slow but still got a few pics. Being Alive did benefit called Tina is a drag for meth abuse. Sisters hosted. Then ran over to Here Bar and covered Size for Tom Whitman. A few sample pics are above. No news on apartment hunting. Still worried about how it will all turn out but oh well
I went to view an apartment today and ran into a friend who I did not know was searching. After chatting with him, we decided we would try and find a 2br place together. He put in an application for the vacant 2br in my building actually. Not sure if we will get accepted since many other applicants but it might work out. I also spent the evening with my old beau Larry from Portland. It was nice since I had really not talked to him in years. We dated back in 1995. We know each other really well and turns out he is doing an assignment in LA for a year. So it will be nice to spend time with a familiar person. He is with a new boyfriend in Phoenix but that is good since I dont think a boyfriend thing would work now due to other diffs. I will call Robert (friend from apt) tomorrow and give him an update. I am looking forward to Dragstrip Hats this weekend. Tomorrow I am covering a premiere after party and am supposed to meet a guy doing biz with IN who runs inthepix.com and might be good way to sell my event photos. We’ll see how it all goes. I had a really great time last night. I got so many photos considering it was just a normal night as far as attendance and performances. But I guess I was on a mission and got almost 150 photos. I kept about 114 of them for posting on www.dragstrip66.com and used new album layout/software. I hope everyone likes it. I emailed Paul V about next weekend and hope he understands the commitment I made for LAL weekend with Sisters. As for moving, I think I am gonna relax for a few weeks and aim for a May 1 thing instead. I still have not decided about IML as I am waiting for media guy to confirm my press pass. I would like going for a visit but the tickets are going for over 200 now and wondering if I shouldnt save my money. I will decide this week.
I had fun last night at Mickys as you can see from the photo. I looked at a few places and have started a casual search of apartments or roomie type things. I have time and have decided not to stress about it anymore. I figure over next several months, something should fall into place. Until then, I am focusing on friends and photography and charity work. I am trying to arrange to go see the Gay AVN awards tomorrow night at Rage. It would make for some good PR and photos. I think they turned down IN mag staff but I am going to see if Bobby will let me up in the DJ booth. I should know by tomorrow. I might stop by Hot Rod since I missed it last week. Oh, the ARA Artseen show was fun and Mark took funny pics of me in the “pill ride” sculpture.
I covered both Oscar parties and got some nice shots of celebs. The only big name was Jennifer Love Hewitt. I went Monday to a book signing of the Bel Ami stars. They still look good but less boyish these days. They were very polite and professional and were very comfortable in front of a camera. Mickys was fun with the contest and such. Took plenty of shots and had to select best ones. I may go to Hot Rod or Bingo tonight (to see Coco). Have not decided yet. So overall, photo things are going well. I said I was not going to put a lot of personal stuff in this journal but decided to mention my roomie situation. He informed me yesterday that he would like to have whole place for himself (no reflection on me). After not even 1 year at this place, I was worried about another move so soon. Well to make a long story short, I am waiting and not going to do any searching. I have too many other things going on to worry about moving at this time. I will revisit this topic with him in a few months and decide further action then.
